Description
A beloved dessert that beautifully combines crunchy pecans with rich chocolate filling, perfect for family gatherings and festive occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
- 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust or homemade
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
- Evenly spread the pecan halves across the bottom of the pie crust.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the filling over the pecans, then melt the chocolate chips with heavy cream in the microwave and drizzle it over the mixture, swirling it in for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until the filling is set but jiggles slightly, then cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Serve at room temperature, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Toast the pecans briefly for added flavor. Ensure not to overbake to prevent a dry filling.
