Description

A beloved dessert that beautifully combines crunchy pecans with rich chocolate filling, perfect for family gatherings and festive occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust or homemade
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. Evenly spread the pecan halves across the bottom of the pie crust.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the filling over the pecans, then melt the chocolate chips with heavy cream in the microwave and drizzle it over the mixture, swirling it in for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the filling is set but jiggles slightly, then cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
  6. Serve at room temperature, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Toast the pecans briefly for added flavor. Ensure not to overbake to prevent a dry filling.
