Description

Strawberry salsa is a fresh, vibrant blend of sweet strawberries, tangy lime, spicy jalapeño, and aromatic herbs—perfect for dipping or topping grilled meats.


Ingredients

  • Juice and zest from 1 medium lime
  • 1 ½ teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1 pint of strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
  • ½ small red onion, chopped
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Chips for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the lime zest, juice, honey or maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  2. Dice the strawberries into small pieces and add them to the bowl.
  3. Finely chop the jalapeño and red onion, then add to the mixture.
  4. Add the chopped cilantro and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  5. Gently stir all ingredients together until combined, being careful not to mash the strawberries.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Let sit for 30 minutes for best flavor, or serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the spice level by using more or less jalapeño.
  • If cilantro isn’t your favorite, try mint or parsley instead.
