Description

A delightful dish that combines sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, perfect for a quick meal or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams (1 lb) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Red chili peppers, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Mix until honey is dissolved.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until pink.
  4. Flip shrimp and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked and opaque.
  5. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and stir gently to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Remove from heat, transfer to a bowl, and garnish with cilantro, sliced red chili peppers, and sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Fresh shrimp is preferred for the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
  • Consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for added nutrition.
  • This dish can be served over rice, noodles, or on its own as an appetizer.
