Soft Pretzel Bites with Cheese Dip
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Shape dough into small bites.
- Boil water with baking soda. Add pretzel bites for 30 seconds.
- Remove and place on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- For cheese dip, melt butter in a saucepan, add milk and cheese, stirring until smooth.
Notes
- Serve pretzel bites warm for best taste.
- You can use different cheeses for dip.
