Ingredients

- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 can refrigerated biscuits
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add milk gradually while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Cook until the mixture thickens.
- Add salt and pepper, then remove from heat.
- Cut biscuits into quarters and layer them in a greased casserole dish.
- Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuits.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
Notes
- You can use turkey sausage for a lighter option.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute sausage with mushrooms.
- Serve with a side of fresh fruit.
