Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, oil, food coloring, and vanilla.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grease lightly.
  5. Pour batter onto skillet and cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook until golden.
  6. Serve warm with cream cheese frosting on top.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of food coloring for desired color intensity.
