Description
Oven-Fried Chicken is a delicious, crispy dish made with chicken thighs coated in seasoned breading and baked until golden brown. It’s a healthier alternative to traditional fried chicken and perfect for family dinners or celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 chicken thighs, patted dry
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Coat each chicken thigh first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to help the coating stick.
- Pour the vegetable oil into a large baking dish and spread it evenly. Arrange the breaded chicken thighs in the dish without crowding them.
- Sprinkle paprika over the coated chicken for added flavor and color.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then carefully turn each piece over and continue baking for another 30 minutes, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove from oven and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the baking dish to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- Pat chicken dry before breading to help coating adhere better.
- Try using a wire rack on the baking sheet for extra crispiness.
- Marinate in buttermilk for extra tenderness and flavor.
- Customize seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, or herbs.
