Description

Mango sticky rice is a traditional Thai dessert made with glutinous rice, fresh mango, and coconut milk.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  3. Steam the rice for about 30 minutes until cooked.
  4. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Mix half of the coconut sauce with the cooked rice and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  6. Slice the mangoes into thin pieces.
  7. Serve the sticky rice with mango slices on the side.
  8. Drizzle with remaining coconut sauce and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
