A traditional Czech pastry filled with sweet or savory fillings.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup fruit preserves (or cheese)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt in another bowl.
- Add yeast mixture and egg to the dry ingredients.
- Knead dough until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out dough and cut into circles.
- Place filling in the center of each circle.
- Pinch edges to seal.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.

- Try different fillings based on preference.
