Description

Quick and easy instant pot refried beans.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound dry pinto beans
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the beans and remove any debris.
  2. Add beans, water, onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, and salt to the instant pot.
  3. Close the lid and set to high pressure for 40 minutes.
  4. Allow natural pressure release for 20 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  5. Drain excess liquid if necessary and mash beans to desired consistency.
