- 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- Flour or cornmeal for dusting
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce or pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup whole milk ricotta cheese (dolloped)
- 20–25 slices pepperoni
- 1–2 tablespoons hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C), placing a pizza stone or baking sheet inside for at least 30 minutes.
- Lightly flour your work surface, roll out the pizza dough to a 12-inch round, dusting with flour or cornmeal.
- Transfer the dough to parchment paper, spread the tomato sauce evenly, leaving a 1/2 inch border.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, add pepperoni slices, and dollop ricotta cheese around.
- Transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet, and bake for 8-12 minutes until the crust is golden.
- Drizzle hot honey over the pizza, garnish with fresh basil and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Let it rest for a minute, slice, and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, serve hot out of the oven. Consider brushing the crust with olive oil before adding toppings for better flavor.
