Ingredients

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Black food coloring gel
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
- In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy.
- Add cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Mix in vanilla extract and a few drops of black food coloring.
- Pipe ghost shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 1.5 hours until dry and crisp.
- Turn off the oven and let meringues cool inside.
