Description

Fattoush salad is a fresh and tangy Lebanese salad made with mixed greens and crispy pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 radish, sliced
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 pita bread, toasted and broken into pieces

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the lettuce, parsley, mint, tomatoes, cucumber, radish, green onions, and bell pepper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the chopped vegetables.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, sumac, and salt.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to coat.
  5. Add the toasted pita pieces and toss again.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other vegetables as desired.
  • Adjust the sumac according to your taste.
  • For a spicy kick, add chopped chili peppers.
