Description
A delightful dish that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests.
Ingredients
- Chicken thighs: 1.5 lbs (about 680 grams), boneless and skinless
- Honey: 1/3 cup (about 113 grams)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup (about 60 ml)
- Fresh ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons (about 30 ml)
- Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (to taste)
- Sesame seeds: 2 tablespoons (for garnish)
- Green onions: 2, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by whisking together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, grated ginger, olive oil, and black pepper. Coat the chicken and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the honey garlic sauce by boiling the reserved marinade in a saucepan for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the marinated chicken for 25-30 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Brush the thickened marinade over the chicken and return it to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize.
- Let the chicken rest, then garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
- Chicken thighs are recommended for their juiciness.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more honey or soy sauce for a savory flavor.
- Consider adding vegetables to the baking sheet for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
