Description

Delightful cookies that blend the rich flavors of chocolate and the natural sweetness of ripe bananas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, corn starch, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract and beat until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare baking sheets.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  8. Bake for 9-10 minutes until light golden brown. Cool before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. For vegan cookies, use a plant-based butter alternative.
