Description

A fun and festive bread shaped like a Christmas tree, filled with cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir in yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter and yeast mixture.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, about 5-7 minutes. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Roll out the dough and cut it into triangles.
  6. Place cheese on the wide end of each triangle and roll them up.
  7. Arrange the rolls in the shape of a Christmas tree on a baking sheet.
  8. Brush with beaten egg and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
