Description

Delicious Cheesy Mashed Potato Puff Bites combining creamy mashed potatoes, gooey cheese, and a crunchy exterior. Perfect for snacks or appetizers!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying or cooking spray for baking

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash until smooth; season with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed potatoes, cheese, green onions, and egg until well combined.
  3. Form small balls from the mixture, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on a plate.
  4. Coat each ball in breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil for 4-6 minutes until golden brown, or bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes until crispy.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed gluten-free crackers or almond flour. Experiment with different cheese types and seasonings for unique flavors.
