Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fresh salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Place salmon fillets in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon is flaky and cooked through.
- Optional: Drizzle remaining marinade over salmon before serving. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
- Do not overbake the salmon to avoid dryness.
- Marinate longer for deeper flavor if time allows.
- Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best taste.
- Serve with rice, vegetables, or salad for a complete meal.
