Description

Baked Soy Sauce Salmon is a delicious, easy-to-make dish featuring a sweet and savory soy-based marinade that enhances the natural richness of tender, flaky salmon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fresh salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon is flaky and cooked through.
  6. Optional: Drizzle remaining marinade over salmon before serving. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Do not overbake the salmon to avoid dryness.
  • Marinate longer for deeper flavor if time allows.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best taste.
  • Serve with rice, vegetables, or salad for a complete meal.
